- Parents are not allowed in the lesson room during the lesson time, but are highly encouraged to bring their concerns and questions to the teacher at the end of each lesson. Parents are also asked to find quiet diversions for any siblings who may be waiting.
- Understand the "10,000 Hours Theory." This theory states the importance that daily practice has on the student's progress. You will be expected to enforce and accommodate practice times. Practice times need to be recorded on the student's webpage. (Ask instructor if you have questions about this).
- While recognizing that some students do have a more natural inclination toward music, please understand that all students will be treated equally and concert solos or special assignment will not be handed out to just a chosen few of the music students.
- Your lesson time is a weekly commitment. If you find it necessary to miss a lesson, as much advance notification as possible is appreciated. Lesson no-shows will be charged the full amount!
- Lost books, lack of practice or other excuses for missed lessons are not tolerated. Each lesson is an opportunity to advance the student's skills whether the student is prepared or not.
- Recitals are given at the end of each semester, and all students are required to participate. This gives the student the opportunity to learn performance skills as well as listening skills as they hear the performances of other students at RAA.
