8th Graders Heading to Washington D.C.

Many in the 8th grade class are heading to Washington D.C. in May for an educational study of our nation’s history and political system.  They will be visiting historical significant places like Ford’s Theatre, the National Archives, and the Sewell-Belmont House.  They will also be examining the artifacts at the Smithsonian’s National Museums of American History, Natural History, and Air and Space Museum.  A visit to the Pentagon and its September 11th memorial will be a moving experience for each of them.  Other tours will include the U.S. Capital, Library of Congress, and the U.S. Supreme Court.  An evening tour of the monuments along the National Mall is always a neat experience as well.

As with every educational trip, there are still a few students who have not raised all of their funding.  If you would like to contribute to their fundraising, please see Mr. Keith in the school office.
